Sky Archer Pose – A Beginners Guide

Build a solid foundation before aiming for the stars. Sky Archer Pose combines a strong Triangle Pose posture with a revitalizing side-body stretch to release tension while keeping your body warm and to balance out some forward bends.

In your Warrior-to-Triangle transitions, this pose might be a fun way to spice things up: As a good stretch before Wide-Legged Forward Fold or to build up some energy on your way to Half Moon, try it between Extended Side Angle and Triangle or Warrior II and Triangle. How To Do The Sky Archer Pose

  1. Begin in Warrior stance, with your right knee bent in front of you and your right foot pointing forward, and your left foot planted behind you and nearly parallel to the back of your mat.
  2. With your left hand, grab your right wrist.
  3. Pull your right wrist toward the back of the mat with your left hand while straightening your front leg — lean into it for a nice side-body stretch.
  4. Wherever it makes sense in your sequence, repeat on the other side.
